Description:Raynor Express Driver Training Program

1. Successfully complete the Four Week Truck Driving Program at Sauk Valley Community College. The student will not be compensated by Raynor Garage Doors during the four week course.

Sauk Valley Community College partners with 160 Driving Academy and provides contemporary, high quality classroom and truck driving training. This training will prepare students for their driving permit and for their Class A (CDL) driving exam.

Week 1

40 hours of classroom instruction that prepares students to receive their Type A driving permit. The class is normally scheduled from 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday, however, class times may vary.

Weeks 2-4

Training includes 120 hours of behind-the-wheel training. This training prepares students for the Class A (CDL) driving exam. Truck driving training will begin at 8:00 AM Monday-Friday. As students skills progress, they will be driving on roads throughout Northwest Illinois.


The package includes the cost of driving permit, drug screen, Department of Transportation physical and administrative fees. Raynor Garage Doors will cover the costs of the Training Course.

2. Train as a Raynor Yard Tractor Driver for 2 to 3 months  depending on performance. The Trainee will work alongside the current Yard Tractor Driver in order to practice the basic truck driving skills. The Trainee will be paid an hourly rate of $18.00 per hour.

3. The trainee will ride with a Raynor Express OTR Driver for 2 to 3 weeks in order to learn the tasks associated with the position as well as honing their driving skills. The Trainee will be compensated at the current Raynor Express OTR Driver rates.

4. Become a Raynor Express Driver.

5. An applicant that fails to successfully complete the course, or a Raynor Express OTR Driver that fails to successfully complete a minimum of one year of service will be required to reimburse Raynor for the tuition at Sauk Valley Community College.

6. Bargaining Unit Candidates for the program will be selected based on seniority, provided that they have an acceptable driving record.
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a passport or apply for one when starting the training program. Heavy lifting is required.
